What is Canstruction?
Canstruction is a unique design and build competition that brings together teams of engineers, architects, designers, and community members to create stunning structures made entirely out of canned goods. These imaginative builds are displayed to the public, showcasing creativity, collaboration, and technical skill—all while raising awareness about hunger in our community. Each structure is a testament to what can be achieved when art, architecture, and advocacy come together.
At its core, Canstruction London supports the fight against food insecurity. After the event, all cans used in the builds are donated to the London Food Bank, helping stock shelves and feed families in need. Through this initiative, participants not only build incredible works of art—they also build hope. Every can contributes to a larger cause, making Canstruction London a powerful blend of compassion and creativity.

The London Food Bank is a volunteer-driven charity that helps our community share its food resources with those in need. Since its founding in 1986, it has provided emergency food assistance to individuals and families facing financial hardship, while also supporting other local agencies through its food warehouse operations. Governed by a community board and powered by generous donations, the Food Bank plays a vital role in reducing hunger and promoting dignity across London and the surrounding area.
